For all of us

We know that feeling.

It's late. The phone is in your hand before you decide to reach for it. You promise yourself this is the last time. By morning, that familiar weight: you've let yourself down again.

It isn't a failure of faith. The phone meets you when you're alone and tired, and willpower alone isn't enough.

Hurr, a new app

— How it works

From install to protection —two minutes.

Open the app, grant the permissions it needs to work — and you're done.

  1. Install

On Google Play today, on the App Store soon. It's small, and the blocking runs locally on your device.

  2. Grant accessibility access

The Accessibility permission lets Hurr read what your browser shows, locally, so it can block pornographic content before it reaches you. We don't log your browsing or send it to any server.

  3. Choose your commitment

7 days, 30 days, or 90 days. While the commitment is active you can't delete the app or turn off protection — not even you.

Feature 01

Block pornographic content
across the whole device.

Not a browser extension you can disable in a tap. Hurr works at the system level, blocking pornographic content across every browser and the messaging apps people actually use. It cleans up search results on its own.

  • Covers Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, Opera, Samsung Internet, DuckDuckGo, and others.
  • Blocks Facebook and Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and WhatsApp channels.
  • A block screen you can shape. Write a note to yourself, and set a countdown before it closes.
Feature 02

Focus mode.
An hour without distraction.

Schedule windows in your day where every app is held back except the ones you keep. Right for prayer, for study, for the reading hour before sleep. Calls and messages stay through, because those are needs, not luxuries.

  • Repeating daily windows at times you choose.
  • A short whitelist: keep open what you need (Quran, calls, calendar).
  • You can end it early. But you'll remember why you started.
Feature 03

Removal protection.
Tonight's decision survives the morning.

Choose how long you're committing for, and Hurr keeps you from deleting the app or turning the protection off for that whole stretch. It isn't surveillance. It's a promise you make to yourself before you waver, a hand on your shoulder when your resolve thins.

  • Three lengths to commit to: 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days.
  • A clear counter to steady you: how many days have passed, how many remain.
  • Held in place by Device Admin permission. Only the end of the term lifts it.
— A word

Not a sermon.
A reminder.

"Indeed, the soul is ever inclined to evil, except for those my Lord has mercy upon."

— Yusuf 53

On-devicethe blocking lives on your phone

The blocking itself runs locally on your device. We don't see what you browse, we don't log your activity, and we don't use behavioral analytics. If you sign in, your settings (block lists and preferences) sync so you can restore them on your other devices. Sign-in is optional, only for specific features.

Newand still at the beginning

Hurr is a newly released app. We won't claim thousands of users, or stars we haven't earned yet. We're writing this page on our first day, and we'd rather be plain than dress up numbers we don't have.

— Questions

The questions people hesitate to ask.

Does Hurr keep a record of what I browse?

No. Hurr reads what the browser is about to render, on your device, so it can block pornographic content before it appears, then drops that data immediately. We don't log your browsing and we don't send it to any server. If you sign in, only your settings sync (block lists and preferences). The pages you visit never do.

What happens if I try to delete the app?

During the term you committed to, you can't remove Hurr or turn the protection off. Not even you. That's the point: it protects the decision you made today from the weaker version of you that shows up next week.

Is Hurr free, or is there a subscription?

The core (pornographic-content blocking, focus mode, and a one-day removal protection) is free today. We're working on an optional Premium plan for longer commitments and a few extra features. We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads.

Does it work on iPhone?

Android is available today. The iOS build is in development and will land on the App Store later. We'll announce a date when it's ready, not before.

Can the block be slipped past with a VPN or another browser?

Hurr blocks unsupported browsers on its own, and holds newly installed apps until you allow them by hand. No technique is 100% perfect, but the goal is to make slipping past harder than staying. That gap is what tilts the decision.

The app is new. Why should I trust it?

We aren't asking for blind trust. Try the app, read the permissions it asks for, read the privacy policy. We'd rather start with one user who's genuinely convinced than mislead a thousand with numbers we haven't earned yet.

What if a feature is missing, or something breaks?

Send a note through the contact page. We read every message, and reply within two days at most. The app gets better because you tell us what isn't working.

Free yourself. from your digital chains.
